Alpina APAX JR. MIPS is a children's enduro cycling helmet that has a lot in common with the adult model APAX MIPS. The low weight is possible thanks to Inmold technology, which combines an outer hard shell with an inner Hi-EPS part. The edges of the helmet are finished with the Edge Protect system, and this helmet is also equipped with the MIPS system. The MIPS system is a thin layer of plastic built into the inside of the helmet shell with low friction, which allows sliding movement of 10 to 15 mm in all directions. Studies show that this reduces some of the rotational forces transmitted to the brain during side impacts. Large vents are the basis for good ventilation of the helmet, and the Run System Ergo Flex MIPS ensures an optimal fit of the helmet.

• MIPS: Multi-Directional Impact Protection System is a technology that reduces rotational forces that occur during a fall or head impact. In the event of an impact to the helmet, the hard outer shell first acts. Then the inner foam shell compresses, which presses against the MIPS layer. Since the friction between the two layers is very low, the shell does not press against the head, but slides slightly in the direction of the impact. This movement is enough to drastically reduce the force and thus the consequences of a head impact.

• Inmold Tec – The low weight is due to Inmold technology, where the upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This results in a solid surface connection, providing a very solid design
• Edge protect: a protective layer that makes the helmet more resistant to breaks and scratches and offers additional protection against external influences during frequent use
• Ceramic shell: the name for the outer shell of all Alpina helmets made using the Inmold process. It is a thin, lightweight material that is extremely resistant to impacts and scratches, contains UV stabilizers and is antistatic.
• Run System Ergo Flex Mips - the fine-tuning system is fluid and soft to the touch, ensuring the highest level of comfort
• ERGOMATIC: the buckle that has been tried and tested countless times is used on all Alpina helmets. Multi-stage adjustment, controlled with just one hand. The buckle also cannot unfasten on its own in the event of an accident.
• Y-CLIP: The Y-clip connects the front and rear straps under the ears. When the clip is unfastened, the straps can be easily repositioned and fine-tuned. This allows for an optimal fit of the helmet
